A sea of red stormed the ground at Kings Langley Bowls Club as members welcomed some very special visitors to celebrate their centenary year.
Marching into the club dressed in their iconic uniforms were none other than the Chelsea Pensioners, who came along for a game of bowls on Wednesday, August 13.
Speaking to KINGSnews, a spokesperson for the bowls club said: “They were a magnificent sight when they arrived in their traditional red coats.
“The result of the match was immaterial – suffice to say that a good time was had by all, and members enjoyed fascinating conversations with their opposition.
“Their captain Phil was full of appreciation for the welcome and the friendliness of the club, saying it had been the best so far this year.”
Residents were quick to talk about the lovely event on social media, with one sharing: “They were a lovely bunch of people, very warm and friendly and a great finale to our centenary celebrations.
