This year Southampton University and Nottingham University were the favourites for high achieving students followed by King’s College London, Sheffield University and UCL, among others.

A school spokesman said staff were proud of all their students achievements.

He commented: “As a school we value the progress of all and were very proud of the effort our staff and students put in to ensure that all students progressed at A-level within their subject areas and also as individuals through the schools extensive extracurricular program, which included a large Duke of Edinburgh program, extensive trips and visits programs and a large range of clubs and sporting opportunities for all year groups.”
