St Mary’s Church in Rickmansworth is planning an Open Weekend this month, in lieu of the popular Canal Festival, which has been cancelled this year.
Local organisations taking part in the event on May 18 and 19 include Batchworth Community Council, the Scouts, Guides, Rickmansworth Library, u3a, the Historical Society, the Residents’ Association, and many more.
There will be lots of activities at the church for both children and adults to enjoy, from parachuting teddies to climbing to the top of the 17th century tower. Saturday’s revelries will be accompanied by jazz musicians, while a concert will be staged on Sunday. A bonus history tour around the church will also take place on Sunday.
Admission to the grounds of St Mary’s will be free.
