HAVE YOUR SAY: Residents invited to give feedback on Dacorum Borough Council’s budget

Published on: 2nd January 2025   |   By: The Newsdesk   |   Category: Uncategorized

Hemel Hempstead residents are invited to have their say on Dacorum Borough Council’s (DBC) 2025-26 budget.

With rising costs, reduced government funding, and increasing service demand, residents’ feedback will provide valuable insight into local priorities and help guide DBC’s approach to managing resources.

Councillor William Allen, DBC’s portfolio holder for corporate and commercial services, said: “Balancing the budget while maintaining a full range of services is a complex task and a core function of the council. Input from residents helps to reaffirm priorities and guide informed decisions.”

According to DBC, the council is working with reduced funding, as government grants have decreased significantly from £9.2million in 2013/14 to an expected £4.4million in 2025/26.

DBC has also noted an increase in demands and the need “to save £2.6million over the next four years while maintaining essential services”.

The consultation closes on Tuesday, January 14. For more information, visit letstalk.dacorum.gov.uk/budget-2025-26
