A performing arts school in Watford has been named Drama Studio of the Year in London and the South East.
The Academy Watford received the accolade at this year’s Prestige Awards, which were held on August 14 and aim to recognise businesses that have proven to be the best in their field.
The Academy Watford, located at The Bushey Arena, provides acting, singing and dance training to children aged four to 18.
According to Daniel Jones of the Prestige Awards, The Academy was chosen because of the high standard of training provided and all of the fantastic performing possibilities provided to students.
He was particularly impressed with The Academy’s reaction to the pandemic, which included delivering classes online and being one of the first schools in the UK to bring children back on stage.
Creative director of The Academy Watford, Sara Bispham, and assistant principal Hannah Chapman, said: “I am absolutely thrilled to have won this award. It is so wonderful to have The Academy and all of our work recognised by such a prestigious organisation and to be given the title of Drama Studio of the year!”
