Radlett and Bushey residents, along with the rest of Hertsmere, have until April 17 to comment on plans to build a major film production facility in Hertsmere.
A full planning application for the potential multi-million pound development off Rowley Lane in Borehamwood, known as Sky Studios Elstree, has been submitted by landowners Legal and General Assurance Society Ltd, in conjunction with Sky Studios.
The application can be viewed on Hertsmere Borough Council’s (HBC) website by searching for either Rowley Lane or reference number 20/0315/FULEI in the planning area.
One of the application documents is a Design and Access statement. It gives details of the site – its location and context; the overall concept design and masterplan; the layout, appearance, scale, height and massing of the buildings within the proposed development; access and landscaping arrangements, including car, cycle, pedestrian access, and shuttle bus provision; plus crime prevention and sustainability strategies.
Councillor Linda Silver, chairperson of HBC’s Planning Committee, said: “This is an important application, not just for Borehamwood, but for the whole borough.
“I would urge anyone who lives, works or studies in the area, particularly those who think they might be directly affected, to take the time to view the proposal and give us your thoughts.”
To submit a comment, use the online planning portal or email consult.planning@hertsmere.gov.uk quoting reference number 20/0315/FULEI. A final decision on the application will be made later this year.
