Have you say about speeding in Garston

Published on: 25th January 2019   |   By: News Bulletin   |   Category: Uncategorized

Lib Dem campaigner for Leggatts ward Jamil Minhas and Elected Mayor of Watford Peter Taylor have launched a survey asking for resident’s views about speeding and traffic in an area of Garston.

Residents living around the Cherry Tree area of Garston have frequently had problems with speeding cars. Residents living on Hazel Tree Road sent a petition to the Mayor highlighting the problem.

Many drivers use the network of roads as cut throughs and there’s regular reports of near misses involving children and elderly people.

Liberal Democrat campaigner for Leggatts ward Jamil Minhas said: “Living on Leggatts Wood Avenue, I know all too well the problems that speeding traffic around our local area can cause. That’s why I want to know your views about it. I want to know how big a problem you think this is and what you think is the best course of action for us to take to fix it. I want to fix this problem for my neighbours.”

Elected Mayor of Watford Peter Taylor said: “When I’ve been out speaking with residents, it’s been really apparent the strength of feeling about this issue locally.”

“I was also impressed how the residents of Hazel Tree Road have come together to make clear the problems they’ve been experiencing. We need to understand what residents feel is the best solution for us to work together to tackle this problem.”
