Hertfordshire Constabulary seized three shotguns and valuable suspected stolen equipment during a search warrant in Hemel Hempstead.

Officers from Dacorum’s Scorpion, Intervention and Safer Neighbourhood teams carried out a warrant at an address in Three Cherry Trees Lane on Thursday, January 24.

During the search they located and seized three unlicensed shotguns along with a significant amount of ammunition.

Suspected stolen specialist building equipment, worth around £20,000, and two new electric bicycles, each worth around £1,000, were also recovered.

Four men – aged 21, 23, 25 and 33 and all from Hemel Hempstead – were arrested on suspicion of theft. They have been released under investigation while police enquiries continue.

Dacorum chief inspector, Paul Mitson, said: “We are committed to keeping the public safe and I would urge the people of Dacorum to help us by reporting any information they may have regarding illegal firearms, stolen goods and any other criminal activity to us online at www.herts.police.uk/Report or by calling the non-emergency number 101.”

“If you’d prefer to remain anonymous contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or submit details online at crimestoppers-uk.org. If you believe a crime is in progress always dial 999 so that we can get officers there as soon as possible.”
