A famous comedian is taking on a half marathon to support Mount Vernon Cancer Centre (MVCC) in Northwood after undergoing treatment there.
Richard Herring will be taking part in the Knebworth Half Marathon in November to raise money for East and North Hertfordshire Hospitals’ Charity to thank both MVCC and Lister Hospital.
This thanks comes after they supported and treated him for testicular cancer, with Richard receiving chemotherapy at MVCC.
Richard who has raised over £14,000 so far said he is grateful to the medical staff that supported him.
He said: “I’m very grateful to all the medical staff who have got me this far and I know that they’ll be keeping an eye on me for months and years to come.
“I don’t want to gush about the NHS but they have given me the hope of seeing my kids grow up and leave home and the prospect of some time to myself once they’re gone.”
