GREAT GATSBY: Kings Langley theatre group to bring Jazz Age to life on stage in new show

Kings Langley Players (KLP) have announced their upcoming production, a new theatrical version of the classic American novel, The Great Gatsby.

Based on the much-loved book by F. Scott Fitzgerald, the play tells the story of young Yale University graduate Nick Carraway who, during the hot summer of 1922, becomes swept up in the glamorous world of his enigmatic millionaire neighbour, Jay Gatsby.

A spokesperson for KLP said: “In a new adaptation, the undisputed jewel of American literature is brought to life, putting the glamorous façade of the Prohibition era into the spotlight, as well as the broken dreams it stood upon.

“The honour would be entirely ours if you could attend our little party.”

The performances will take place at Kings Langley Community Centre at 7.45pm from Thursday, March 7, to Saturday, March 9. Table tickets cost £18 and tiered/floor seats cost £16.

To book tickets for the show, visit their website or call 0333 666 3366.

The show comes hot on the heels on what was a very successful year for KLP, as they performed an incredible four shows in 2023. These included the sports comedy Up ‘n’ Under in March, fun farce Cash on Delivery in May, Churchill drama The Darkest Hour in November, and pantomime Robin Hood and the Babes in the Wood in December.
