Playing today (December 14) in the first round FA Trophy Tie at York Road against Maidenhead United, the Hemel FC boys had some weight on their shoulders.
Niko Muir made his debut for the Tudors with Isaac Galliford returning to the side after a successful loan spell.
The hosts exercised their strengths very early on, scoring their first goal within the 8th minute.
Galliford played a nice ball over the top towards Alex Wall, but it was a little over and went through to the opposition goalie, Chris Dunn.
The Tudors caught up after Connor Essam scored with a power header from the corner in the 24th minute.
Maidenhead had the upper hand going into half time as they scored their second goal but with not much between the two sides.
As the second half was underway, assisted by Galliford, Wall puts the ball into the back of the net bringing the Tudors level.
Maidenhead hit the Tudors on the counter to go in the lead for the third time in the game, scoring twice only a minute apart.
The Tudors made a few substitutions, but nothing to help make them level and at full time, the game was won by the hosts 4-2.
Hemel FC tweeted: “The Tudors got back into the tie through Alex Wall but Maidenhead caught us on the break for the third and the fourth came in a space of a min which killed the game off.”
Hemel FC manager, Sammy Moore said: “Overall disappointed we are out of the FA Trophy but delighted with the performance this afternoon, I thought we passed the ball superbly at times and created some really good chances.
“Playing like that, our luck will change, fans were superb again.”
