The first new council-owned housing to be built in Kings Langley since the 1970s was opened by Deputy Mayor councillor Alan Johnson last month.
Coniston Road now has a new small, sustainable community thanks to Bugler Homes’ development of 10 social residential units.
The homes include environmentally friendly features such as solar panels, water-saving methods, thermal insulation, an external electrical supply for connecting to car charging stations, and secure cycle storage to promote the use of environmentally friendly modes of transportation. Materials from ecologically friendly sources have been utilised and will be recyclable whenever feasible.
The new residents are delighted with their homes and the location, which is near to local schools and green spaces.
Speaking on the new homes, cllr Johnson said: “This is how all homes should be built, not just Dacorum’s. It’s not just the sustainable elements that are impressive, but the thought and care that has gone into the design and the quality of the overall finish. These properties will still be here in a hundred years.”
