GOING DOWN: Abbots Langley burglary rates decreasing according to police reports

Published on: 3rd May 2023   |   By: Darius Morgan   |   Category: Uncategorized

An increase in proactivity from members of the public has led to a significant reduction in the number of burglaries this year, according to Three Rivers Police (TRP).

As reported in last month’s edition, police only made one arrest in relation to 347 reported burglaries in the district in 2022.

TRP claims, however, that results are improving this year. They stated that the number of reported burglaries has steadily decreased each month, with 27 reported in January, 15 reported in February, and eight reported in March.

Officers have stepped up their proactive patrols, using intelligence and feedback from the community to identify hotspot areas.

Safer Neighbourhood Team Sergeant Adam Johnson said: “The feedback we receive from members of the public is invaluable in terms of organising our patrol plans and planning events and campaigns. You can use our community voice platform, echo, to share your views about what you think we should be focusing on in Three Rivers.”
