Croxley Danes School is one step closer to completion as a Topping Out ceremony was held on the roof of the new building.
Headteacher Stephen Thompson was joined by chair of governors Terry James and chair of the Danes Educational Trust, Rosie Faunch, to mark the completion of the main structure of the new school on Baldwins Lane, Croxley Green.
Chris Woods, head of operations for Kier, the principal contractors, was joined by representatives from the Education and Skills Funding Agency and other contractors in marking the occasion.
Guests at the event were amongst the first to admire the artwork now displayed at the entrance to the site on Baldwins Lane which has been created by students at the school.
Students are also looking forward to helping to create a bug hotel on site which will remain in situ once the school opens.
Speaking about the event, Mr Thompson said: “We are delighted that work is progressing so well and looking forward to the next big ceremony when the keys will be handed over.
“Croxley Danes looks forward to becoming an even more active member of the Croxley Green community when our students and staff move into the school next year.”
