On a sweltering afternoon on the South Coast, Wealdstone FC emerged victorious from a seven-goal thriller.
Wealdstone went behind early on against Weymouth and although the visitors started brightly, it was Weymouth who went ahead after Yemi Odubade fired low into the bottom corner past Aston Oxborough.
The Stones then enjoyed a solid spell of possession as they searched for an equaliser and a through ball from Billy Clifford picked out Dennon Lewis to put the Stones back on level terms.
Just before half-time, Daniel Green’s corner was converted by Ross Lafayette as the Stones went into the break ahead.
Although Lafayette doubled his tally less than ten minutes after the restart, Weymouth reduced the arrears just after the hour when Abdulai Baggie converted and the scores were level just two minutes later when Brett Williams converted a spot kick past Oxborough.
With the Stones rocking, Aston Oxborough was replaced by Jonathan North and with both sides pushing for the winner, it was Ross Lafayette who scored the winner for the visitors with a minute to go when Clifford played through Lewis and his cross found the Stones frontman.
