STAY WARM: Northwood knitters create clothing to help people keep warm this winter

Published on: 20th November 2022   |   By: Amy Pollard   |   Category: Uncategorized

Members of a craft club who meet at Northwood Hills Library have been hard at work making clothing items for those struggling to keep warm this winter.

Many are preparing for a winter that could be dangerously cold due to the ongoing cost-of-living crisis and the rise in energy bills.

In response to this, the craft club at Northwood Hills Library have been making hats, scarves and blankets to help those who would otherwise struggle due to the cold.

Speaking to NORTHWOOD&RUISLIPnews, craft club member Rene Chin said: “Every Saturday, we hand over our stuff to people who need it. They’re meant for those who are down and out or are likely to sleep rough.

“It’s something we can do to help people and we’re all really behind it. The community needs to get together at times like this.”

The group meet from 10am to 12pm every Saturday at Northwood Hills Library on Potter Street. Volunteers and new members are always welcome.
