Volunteers are needed to help ensure the smooth running of the Abbots Langley Tough Ten.
The popular annual event will return on Sunday, October 5. The 10k starts at 10.30am, with a parkrun, 3k and 5k also available.
Fiona Packman, one of the organisers, said: “Although after 40 years this race may seem a fixture in the village, it still has to be licensed, which means meeting some very high standards for safety and organisation, including marshalling. This year, we will need some new marshals as some of our regulars have other commitments that morning.
“Every year, we try to operate a buddy system, which means that marshals can be paired together to ensure no one is left alone. It’s not onerous, less than an hour, and being a marshal is ideal for anyone who wants to be part of a lovely village event.”
