Tributes have been paid to a much-loved member of the community, Marc Reingold, who passed away on Friday, March 21.
Angus Fraser, chair of Stanmore Cricket Club (CC), shared: “Marc lost his battle with cancer surrounded by his wonderful family. He was 55 years of age. His presence on Stanmore Common will be missed enormously but his contribution to the wellbeing and name of Stanmore CC will never be forgotten.
“It was in 2002 that Marc began playing for Stanmore 1st XI in the Middlesex County Cricket League. In the next 21 seasons, he represented the club on more than 330 occasions, scoring almost 4,000 runs and taking 279 wickets.
“In 2004, he became club captain, a role he performed with skill and pride for 14 seasons.
“Watching his and Stephanie’s three wonderful children grow up at Stanmore has been lovely to see. Without Stephanie, it is hard to know where Stanmore CC would be and the commitment of Grant, Steven and Melissa to the club is almost equal to that of their parents.
“This is a difficult moment for Stanmore CC but rather than feel sad, we should all be grateful for the care, good times and fun Marc brought to a small, proud cricket club in North West London.”
