Bentley Priory Museum in Stanmore is hosting a stop-frame animation workshop for families over May half term.
The museum will be working with storyteller-illustrator Isabel Benavides as part of their new project, Clerk Special Duties, which explores the role of the Women’s Auxiliary Air Force (WAAF) at RAF Bentley Priory during the Second World War.
The workshop will be available from Wednesday, May 31, to Saturday, June 2, from 10.30am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 3.30pm.
Participants will work with Isabel to create a stop-frame animation inspired by the WAAF, using extracts from war-time diaries and the museum’s collection to help build a moving picture of the work the women undertook.
Sarah Nicol, the museum’s learning manager, said: “We’re excited to be working with Issy and families to bring these engaging personal stories to life, and highlight the experiences of women in the WAAF with this workshop.”
There is no additional cost for the workshop, which is included in museum admission or annual membership.
Pre-booking is advised. For more information, visit www.bentleypriorymuseum.org.uk
