Students at The Purcell School in Bushey received a glowing review following their performance on a national stage.
Young musicians gave a standout performance at London’s renowned Wigmore Hall on Friday, May 2.
James Ellison, from the arts site Get the Chance, reviewed the performance. Get the Chance is a voluntary-run organisation which aims to create opportunities for a diverse range of people to experience and respond to sports, arts, culture and live events.
James explained that he was “caught off guard” by the students, describing the performance as “the finest hour of music making I have seen in London for some time”. He added that it was “a genuine joy to see young musicians play on this scale”.
In his review, James shared: “Every work is a total triumph, delight after delight is heard and felt thorough the clever arrangement.
“What had wow factor was on violin Juila Majewska, with Phoebe Papandrea on piano.”
