Officers are appealing for witnesses, information and dashcam footage following a fatal collision in Watford.
The incident involving a black Ford Focus occurred at around 4.15am yesterday (Sunday, June 8), on Hempstead Road.
It is reported that the vehicle had been travelling on the A41/M25 roundabout when, for reasons unknown at this time, it crossed over Hempstead Road and collided with the perimeter wall of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, adjacent to Russells Nursery.
The sole occupant of the vehicle, a man in his 60s, was found unresponsive and, despite efforts from emergency services, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Sergeant Tim Davies, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Roads Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man at this difficult time.
“As part of our investigations into what happened, I am appealing to anyone who either witnessed the collision or was driving in the area at the time of the incident to please contact me.
“If you have any information or dashcam footage, this could assist with our investigation.”
