The Chorleywood Fine Arts (CFA) society has presented a grant of £250 to support the artistic community in the village through the Chorleywood Community Arts Centre (CCAC).
Due to the impact of COVID-19, many in the arts sector have suffered from funding issues.
This is why the national Arts Society recently decided to give all of its member groups, one of which is CFA, the opportunity to provide a monetary contribution to another organisation of their choice, designed to give them a re-opening boost.
As CFA often do study days and lectures concerning the full spectrum of the arts and related subjects, they decided to endow a group that represent the other side of art: it’s production.
Thus, the local artists at CCAC have been the perfect fit to receive the grant, which they will now use to install bespoke drying racks for the paintings of its members.
Mockie Harrison, CCAC Treasurer and Life Drawing group leader, said, “We are immensely grateful for this support for our artists. We have wanted to put drying racks in for some time and this generous grant means we can get on with it!”
The CCAC offers all kinds of art-related activities to Chorleywood residents, such as pottery classes, life drawing and silk work to name a few. It also provides a great working space for artists throughout the village, welcoming people of all ages and abilities.
