GENEROUS DONATION: Wealdstone FC give hundreds to Muscular Dystrophy UK

Published on: 26th November 2020   |   By: Jake Levison   |   Category: Wealdstone F.C

A Wealdstone FC player passed on a £200 cheque to the charity of his choice following the team’s televised performance recently.

After the Stones’ 3-3 draw with Sutton United on November 21, which was aired on BT Sport, man of the match Ross Lafayette was presented with a £200 by National League sponsors Vanarama, which he offered to charity partner Muscular Dystrophy UK.

His kind offer has also been matched by the management team of Dean Brennan, Stuart Maynard, Kirk Rayment, Gary King and Gary Anderson and also the club’s board of directors, taking the donation total to £600.

Stones boss Dean Brennan said: “Myself and the management team wanted to match Ross’ donation to a cause that is very close to our hearts here at the club.

“We have a big community ethos here, particularly over the past few months where hardship has hit a lot of people in the country and in our Wealdstone family; we are all in this together and felt this was the very least we could do.”
