Two electrical apprentices and alumni from Queens’ School in Bushey have been working on the refurbishment of their old school.
JHP Electrical is a local commercial company based in Bushey, owned and run by husband and wife Jonathan and Helen Patterson. Helen is an Apprenticeship Ambassador for Hertfordshire and employs apprentices in all areas of the business.
One of the company’s current projects is the electrical installation of the new English block at Queens’ School. Two of JHP’s final year electrical apprentices working on the project are Charlie Shanahan and Jason Morrison, both of whom attended Queens’ School as pupils.
Mr Dunn, head of Year 7, said: “It’s good to see that students who don’t go on to university can still make a good career for themselves. Well done, boys.”
Helen added: “We’re really passionate about training and development at JHP Electrical, particularly apprenticeships. It’s great to see Jason and Charlie come full circle, being able to work on the electrical refurbishment at their old school which will improve the facilities there.”
