“Going for a walk doesn’t sound like much of a challenge, however, after the events of [last] summer, it definitely is for me!”, and with that, Alison is set to complete a fundraising walk later this month.
In the RADLETTnews October edition, Alison shared her story after she was involved in a serious collision with a van. She suffered a number of serious injuries and spent six weeks in St Mary’s Hospital trauma ward in spring 2025.
Determined not to let the incident define her, Ali will now be taking part in the London Winter Walk, which is a 26-mile walk across the capital city to raise money for the Imperial Health Charity, together with her partner. The charity supports a number of hospitals across London, including St Mary’s.
Speaking to RADLETTnews before the walk, Alison said: “Nothing I can say or do will ever repay the care they gave me; however, raising funds to help them help more people like me is the least I could do. Thank you, team trauma, forever grateful.”
Before RADLETTnews went to print, Ali had smashed her original target of £600 and raised more than £800.
