The Pinner Wood School community has launched a heartfelt tribute to the former chair of the parent teacher association (PTA).
Emma Quirke served as chair of the Pinner Wood School PTA for more than eight years, before she sadly passed away from cancer in July this year.
To commemorate her life, the school community transformed a disused forest area at Pinner Wood for everyone to enjoy and renamed the space Emma’s Garden.
Parents generously donated trees, shrubs, bulbs, seeds, garden equipment and bedding plants.
The garden was unveiled in a moving ceremony in September, supported by Emma’s husband Tony, her mother Hazel, and her three daughters. Family and friends gathered to remember her through words, songs and poems.
Speaking to PINNERnews, headteacher Miss Marriott said: “Emma was a true Pinner Wood superhero, embodying the school’s core value: the ‘Heart of the Community’.”
