Five-year-old Ricky girl’s yoga challenge for New Hope

Published on: 14th March 2019   |   By: Tim Green   |   Category: Uncategorized

Five-year old Lily Kitchenham from Rickmansworth, a pupil at the Royal Masonic School, has raised an astonishing £2,088.75 for Watford-based homelessness charity, New Hope.

Lily decided to raise money for people who are homeless because ‘people need a home because they might be sad and lonely if they don’t have somewhere to live.’

With the help of her mum, Tanya, and Adele from Adele Yoga, Lily took part in a sponsored two-hour yogathon. The money raised will go towards New Hope’s vital work providing emergency accommodation for men and women in Watford.

Rebecca Palmer, New Hope’s Fundraising and Communications Manager, said: ‘Lily’s fundraising efforts have been fantastic. We have all been moved by her compassion and activism and I believe we can all learn something from Lily’s attitude and hard work.’

If you would like to sponsor Lily, please visit justgiving.com/fundraising/lilysbuildahome and if Lily has inspired you to organise your own fundraising event to help people who are experiencing homelessness, please contact Rebecca on 01923 227 132 or email rpalmer@newhope.org.uk
