Berkhamsted have opened up a five point lead at the top of the BetVictor Southern Division One Central but they were made to work for the victory against Thame United yesterday.
Lewis Toomey, the divison’s leading scorer, put The Comrades 2-0 up after 28 minutes although the visitors managed to pull a goal back before half time.
Max Farrelly thought he had put the game beyond doubt when he made it 3-1 after 62 minutes but Thame kept fighting till the end and made it 3-2 in the 91st minute to ensure a tense finale.
