Garston’s Kyle Langford will be bidding to reach the men’s final of the 800m at the World Athletics Championship in Doha this evening.
Langford, who finished a surprise fourth two years ago, qualified for the semi-finals as a fastest loser.
After he was fined and given a final warning in July, Langford says he’s out to redeem himself.
Speaking to GiveMeSport Athletics, he said: “I want to be a positive role model, that’s one of the main reasons. I want to influence other people to get into the sport and I want peopale to change their lives like I’ve done.”
The semi-final is set to take place tonight at around 8pm UK time
