Developers hoping to build new nearly 200 new homes in Radlett have had their judicial review dismissed.
Hertsmere Borough Council rejected the plans for up to 195 new dwellings on land to the south of Shenley Hill in March 2023.
Developers Fairfax Acquisitions Ltd subsequently lodged an appeal with the Planning Inspectorate. Following a campaign by residents and Sir Oliver Dowden CBE, MP for Hertsmere, this was rejected by the Planning Minister on Friday, January 26.
Fairfax then put forward plans for a judicial review into the Planning Inspectorate’s decision, but the judge dismissed the case on Friday, August 9.
A spokesperson for Aldenham Parish Council (APC)said: “APC is delighted to have received this news. Yet again, the green belt is protected.”
Fairfax has been contacted for comment.
