A Garston councillor says she is feeling “humbled” after being named the third most influential social care leader in the UK.
Councillor Jennifer Pattinson, who represents Meriden Ward, was honoured at the prestigious Social Care Top 30 Awards 2025.
As well as being a councillor, she is also the CEO of Nightingale Hammerson, a charity providing residential and nursing care.
Since her appointment in 2022, she has reinvigorated the organisation’s commitment to relationship-centred care, staff wellbeing, and sector-wide innovation.
Cllr Pattinson told Garston News: “I am feeling humbled because the award is about the fantastic team at the charity. I can’t do my job without them so it really is recognition for everyone.
“You can’t be a good leader without an amazing team. I look after over 200 residents and over 500 staff. I care about my teams and that helps them care for residents.
“In many ways, being a councillor and working in the care industry are similar. I have to be passionate about doing the right thing and care about people.
“There have been many highlights at Nightingale Hammerson, including achieving an Outstanding rating with the Care Qualify Commission.
“We want to help as many people as possible.”
