Avid runner from Chorleywood, Abigail Saunders has decided to take on the London Marathon 2027, in aid of a children’s charity supporting young wheelchair users.
The 26.2-mile race will be the biggest challenge she has taken on in her running career. Abigail has levelled up from park runs all the way through to a half marathon, only leaving a full marathon to complete the checklist.
She is raising money for Whizz Kidz, a charity supporting young wheelchair users across the UK. The organisation supports young people with access to wheelchairs and other equipment, as well as helping in other ways to help the children become confident and independent.
Abigail told Ricky&C’WoodNews: “Every day I get to enjoy the freedom of moving my body, whether that’s running, hiking or simply chasing after my little boy. That freedom is something many of us take for granted, and that’s why supporting Whizz Kidz means so much to me.”
She is hosting two events to aid her fundraising campaign. A Line Dancing night at the Chorleywood Club and a Pop Intro Quiz night at The Cock Inn at Sarratt. Details for this can be found on Abi’s Just Giving page.
