FarmFest, which last year raised £12,500 to support homeless women and children, will take place at Lynsters Farm in Maple Cross, Rickmansworth, from Friday, August 22, to Monday, August 25, featuring 40 live bands, solo artists and DJs.
Lynsters Farm provides a home for 20 previously homeless and refugee women and children, many of who are Ukrainian nationals who fled their home country following Russia’s invasion in 2022.
This year’s festival is curated by the team at Shoreditch’s iconic independent venue, The George Tavern, who have handpicked acts for the long weekend.
Headliners include indie band Tummyache, who recently embarked on a 17-date tour of the USA, and BBC 6 Music favourites Pozi and Bishopskin, who return in 2025 after a triumphant performance at FarmFest 2024, which drew one of the most raucous audiences of the weekend.
Popular Hertfordshire-based metal act PEST take to the stage on Friday evening – with other acts due to perform including Unlucky, Millie Turner, The Slow Country and English Garden.
Scott Albrecht, who runs Lynsters Farm and manages FarmFest, said: “It’s really exciting to be able to bring some of the coolest new artists from the country’s independent music scene to our little corner of the Hertfordshire countryside. As well as the music, we have craft beers on tap, barbecue and burritos – as well as breakfast for early arrivals and anyone camping on-site.
“We’re not a big festival with huge crowds and queues – we’re completely independent and that’s an important part of our identity. Our aim is to provide a platform for upcoming musicians who you might not have seen live yet, but will hopefully be listening to for years to come, while also raising funds for our home for destitute women and children.
“The funds raised at FarmFest provides heating, food and counselling for the families in Mary House, which is dedicated to housing female Ukrainian refugees and their children – as well as our farmhouse, which houses women who were previously street homeless.”
Tickets will be available on the door or online at farmfest.info/tickets
