Watford FC’s Community Sports & Education (CSE) Trust is thrilled to announce the success of its Step Up for Health event.

On Saturday, June 1, participants ran and walked up and down the stands of the 20,000-seater Vicarage Road stadium. They raised more than £8,000 for West Herts Hospitals Charity (WHHC) and Watford FC CSE Trust.

Watford FC’s goalkeeper and WHHC ambassador Daniel Bachman cheered on from the sidelines as around 150 participants took part in the challenge.

The first to cross the finish line in the under-18s category was eight-year-old Leo Lovett.

Mima Moore, 23, who won the adults’ challenge, said: “I didn’t expect to win as I only signed up on the day, but it was a fantastic feeling.”

Prizes were awarded to the first 10 participants to cross the finish line and the top 10 fundraisers.

Alison Rosen, CEO of WHHC, said: “The energy and enthusiasm from everyone was incredible. It’s so great to see our local community come together.”
