A rapist from Hemel Hempstead received a 28-year sentence on Friday, December 15 after being convicted of sexually abusing two victims on Dunstable Downs.
Petru Iancu, 44, had taken two bottles of vodka and sex aids to carry out what the judge described a “twisted sexual fantasy.”
He was convicted at Luton Crown Court for a catalogue of sexual offences involving a total of three victims from the Luton area.
Iancu, from Cloister Walk, Hemel Hempstead, who was aided in court by a Romanian interpreter, was jailed for 23 years. He had been convicted of 17 counts including: rape, sexual activity with a child, causing a child to watch a sex act and causing actual bodily harm.
Judge Alan Blake passed a five-year licence extension meaning he can be recalled to prison at any time after his release until he is aged 72.
He said Iancu had carried out sexual abuse for his own gratification.
The judge said: “I pay tribute to the victims who displayed great courage in giving evidence.”
