Cricket lovers prepare to be stumped as Kings Langley Cricket Club are hitting a six with an evening that promises to be absolutely smashing.
At 7pm on Friday, December 5, the club will welcome the legendary Henry ‘Blowers’ Blofeld, one of the iconic voices of BBC’s Test Match Special.
With his witty wordplay, colourful anecdotes, and eagle eye for buses, Henry will be spinning tales from decades behind the mic.
From Ashes dramas to adventures that could fill a century’s scorebook, there will even be features from the last 50 years of cricket mayhem, including the time he drove a Rolls Royce from London to India ahead of one test match series.
The event will also feature a three-course feast from local restaurant Dallings.
It’s not just about good fun though, as this event is the opening innings in the lead-up to the club’s 200th anniversary in 2030.
Funds raised will be used to improve facilities, host more community events, and strengthen ties with Kings Langley Cricket Club in Australia.
Tickets cost £50. To book, email tom.templeton@yahoo.co.uk or call 07788 971463.
