On Monday (June 11), a group of local residents from the Friends of Watford Museum visited Parliament to tour the building, following an invitation from local MP Richard Harrington.
Residents were shown around the House of Commons and House of Lords, as well as Westminster Hall and St Stephens Hall.
They then had tea with Richard Harrington MP and discussed his work as Watford’s Member of Parliament.
Residents were hosted in a committee room, where they discussed Brexit, transport and the history of Parliament.
Mr Harrington said:
“I was pleased to welcome the friends of the Watford Museum to parliament for a tour. This was followed by an interesting chat over a cup of tea. I think it’s so important that local residents get to visit the home of our democracy and that’s why I regularly invite schools and community groups to have a look around. If you’re interested, either as a local resident or as part of a group, then please do get in touch.”
