Two snooker icons are set to face off again nearly forty years after their legendary duel.
Steve Davis and Dennis Taylor will be in St Albans on Wednesday, September 14, as they recreate the game that gripped the nation. Davis and Taylor were the protagonists in the 1985 World Snooker Final, a showdown that is widely regarded as one of the best matches of all time.
In 1985, a record-breaking 18.5million TV viewers tuned in to see the titanic battle, which played out over nearly 15 hours. The original match was eventually won by Taylor after an iconic final frame, with both players failing to pot black on numerous occasions.
Snooker royalty John Virgo will referee the game and host the evening, with the audience having the chance to have a Q and A with their heroes.
The match will take place in Alban Arena, St Albans AL1 3LD.
