A Bushey resident has released their first new crime novel which even draws inspiration from the town.
Victoria Goldman, who works as a health journalist for her day job, released her debut crime thriller The Redeemer in July.
The thriller tells the story of a series of murders in a small English town as a journalist delves deeper to uncover the truth.
Speaking about including elements of Bushey, Victoria said she wanted to create a fictional place so she could use artistic licence but also include memorable features.
She said: “I liked the idea of setting a book in Hertfordshire as there aren’t many crime novels set here.
“The book features a Jewish community and I wanted this to be similar to those in Hertfordshire.
“The media often shows pictures of very religious Jewish people, but I wanted to portray that most Jews are like everyone else – that there’s a strong sense of community but people vary in how religious they are.”
