The Tring community has shown their overflowing generosity and selflessness, by helping to raise money to send a youth rugby team on tour.
In December, Huel Tring Rugby were thrilled to announce that the U14s team have managed to raise the money needed to send them on tour next year, thanks to donations from the community.
Rob Bray, sponsorship and fundraising manager told Tring news: “Alongside the fireworks, they kicked off at the Festival of Fire, raising cash by selling opportunities to throw soaking wet sponges at the coaches and other ‘willing’ victims in the stocks.
“This was followed up by an outstanding evening on the High Street at the Christmas Fair where a tombola stall was hosted with adult and kids’ prizes. The generous folk of Tring donated just over £1,000 which is a great start to a hopefully great tour.”
The team were raising money to attend the Bournemouth Rugby Festival in May 2025.
Rob continued: “Thanks to all those who donated prizes and bought tickets and special thanks to the hardy souls who braved the elements and the crowds to man the stalls.
“The team will soon be looking for sponsorship for their British & Irish Lions v Aussie themed tour shirts in the New Year!”
