Leavesden residents are objecting to a proposal to install a 15-metre antenna on their street.
The plans, put forward by operators of the Three mobile network, CK Hutchinson UK Ltd, would see the pole and several equipment cabinets installed on the corner of High Road and Hare Crescent.
However, since a consultation of residents began, 88 objections have been registered with Watford Borough Council (WBC).
One anonymous resident of Hare Crescent said: “This pole is going to be a complete eyesore.”
A spokesperson for WBC said: “The council understands the benefits that 5G technology can bring to our community, but we also sympathise with residents who may be concerned about the visual impact of telecoms antennas. We will carefully review any planning applications for 5G antennas, taking into account both the potential benefits and any concerns, to ensure that the final decision is in the best interest of the community as a whole.”
CK Hutchinson UK has been contacted for comment.
