EXCITING NEWS: Chorleywood musicians release their first Extended Play

Published on: 7th December 2020   |   By: Amneet Kaur   |   Category: Uncategorized

Two friends from Chorleywood are thrilled to announce they have finally released their first Extended Play (EP) called “Before the War”.

John Rathbone and Duncan Bennetts released their five-track EP under the band name Seajam Moths.

The aim was to have June as a deadline for the release but the COVID-19 pandemic didn’t let that happen, said John.

He mentioned: “Back in February of this year, my friend Duncan Bennetts and I, set ourselves the goal of writing, recording and releasing a collection of songs within a three-month time frame – something we’d both been intending to do for years but never got round to actually doing, the curse of many  amateur musicians.

“We got together for a couple of songwriting sessions, thrashed out some ideas and then…bang! The pandemic struck.

“Despite not being able to meet up, we had enough material to work with so started throwing ideas back and forth over the internet, despite living less than a mile from each other.

“The events of 2020 have been a great influence on how the songs have been shaped with songs like Keep Your Distance and Before the War.”

The EP was launched on November 6 and has already clocked up over a 1000 streams on Spotify and other music platforms (including Apple Music, iTunes, AmazonMusic and YouTube).

John added: “These have been extremely challenging few months for all of us, but on a personal level, it was satisfying to have achieved something positive out of this year.”
