EXCITING NEWS: Chorleywood Bookshop to re-open its doors soon on new site

Published on: 9th April 2021   |   By: News Bulletin   |   Category: Uncategorized

Booklovers of all ages are delighted to hear the new-look Chorleywood Bookshop will finally re-open its doors on Monday, April 12.

The much-loved shop moved into larger premises just a few doors down from its original site on New Parade, where it traded for nearly 50 years.

Co-owner Sheryl Shurville said: “We have fabulous new shelving, which is very elegant.

“We had the new layout professionally re-designed, which will allow us to sell an even wider selection of books, gifts, games and cards, all beautifully displayed.”

The new lay-out provides more browsing space and an area specially for children.

Sheryl thanked her many customers for their loyalty during lockdown, when the business kept going by organising author events online, continuing to supply books to dozens of schools throughout Herts and Bucks, and making home deliveries.

The shop has also introduced a personal subscription service, whereby customers can gift one book per month to a friend or relative for three, six or 12 months, which is proving very popular.

Sheryl said her staff worked very hard to move stock from the former premises into the new shop and that she hoped author events will resume ‘in real life’ in due course.
