Residents of The Chalfonts and Gerrards Cross are invited to talks featuring two well-known public figures next month.
Organised by Gerrards Cross Bookshop, the first event features award-winning BBC journalist and presenter Clive Myrie, who will be discussing his new memoir, Everything is Everything.
Clive, who is the presenter of the quiz show Mastermind and an anchor on BBC News at Ten, has had a varied career over the last 30 years. Last year, he travelled to Ukraine amidst the breakout of war, and was embedded with British soldiers during the 2003 invasion of Iraq.
In his book, he’ll be discussing his upbringing in Bolton, his views on the many and varied stories he’s reported on, and how growing up black in Britain has affected his life.
The event will take place at the Hub at Gold Hill Baptist Church in Chalfont St Peter at 7.30pm on Tuesday, September 12.
The second event is a book signing from acclaimed author and illustrator Rob Biddulph, whose interactive Draw With Rob series has been a hit with younger readers.
Rob’s books have received praise from both critics and readers, and he won the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize in 2015. Several of his books have also been read out on CBeebies Bedtime Stories.
This event will take place at the Gerrards Cross Bookshop from 10.30am to 12.30pm on Saturday, September 16.
