A new exhibition exploring residents’ love for local high streets has opened at Headstone Manor & Museum in Pinner.
My Highstreet features art from local community members aged up to 21, inspired by the museum’s summer high street exhibition.
Stacey Bagdi, collections and exhibitions officer, said: “This summer, we’ve decided to celebrate high streets in Harrow with an exhibition and a series of family events at Headstone Manor & Museum, including two free trails and craft activities.
“Showcasing stories from shops, restaurants and cinemas, the exhibition has been a chance for staff and volunteers to delve into our archives and object collections to highlight the change of high streets from the 19th century until the modern day.
“We’ve also launched a colourful pop-up exhibition featuring artwork from children in the borough on the theme of high streets at the Greenhill Art Pod, co-curated with Harrow Open Studios. With high streets changing constantly, this exhibition allows visitors to reminisce and reflect on how high streets in Harrow resonate with them.”
The exhibition is open until August 29.
