A 10-year-old St Albans schoolgirl is starring in a popular TV show streamed by millions across the globe.

Elodie Blomfield, who lives in the city, features in around seven episodes of the popular Apple TV show series Ted Lasso.

The schoolgirl plays Phoebe in the hit show which follows the story of an American football coach, played by Jason Sudeikis, who takes over the role of manager at a British football team.

Speaking to StAlbansNews, her mum Rachel Blomfield, said the TV show is her first big role after auditioning for several opportunities and being turned down.

She said: “It was the very first yes that she got, she got very close to things and after about a year or two she got this.

“When she got the part obviously people hadn’t heard of the show, and she was cast in one scene in one episode but since then it’s got bigger and bigger.

“After she had done a couple of scenes for the first episode, they loved her, and we were told they had written her back in.”

Rachel added that Elodie loves being on the set of the show with all of the actors making her feel welcome.

She said: “It’s just like a big family, they’re really nice to her and make her feel like she’s one of them.

“She’s allowed to express her opinion and ask questions; she would be there all day every day if she could.”
