DISSAPOINTING: Hemel lose 3-1 away to Concord Rangers

Published on: 2nd November 2019   |   By: News Desk   |   Category: Hemel Hempstead Town F.C

After conceding two early goals, a late onslaught from Hemel wasn’t enough as they lost 3-1 to Concord Rangers.

The Tudors didn’t start the game off well after conceding two goals in 120 seconds in the games first eight minutes.

With six minutes on the clock, a free kick from Clifford cannoned off the post and Pollock reacted first to slot home.

Two minutes later and the Hemel keeper, Boness was picking the ball out of his net again after a shot from outside of the box crept pass the keeper.

It was a frustrating start to the game as Hemel tried to stretch their opponents which started to work as their wingers got into the game.

With Hemel chasing the game, Concord were more than happy to play on the counter attack and took the same tactic into the second half.

A tempting cross from Wall was nearly converted by Nash but his header was on the wrong side of the post.

Concord nearly made it 3-0 on the 71st minute after a good chance, but Hemel bounced right back with Tosan Popo scoring to make it 2-1. Comeback on.

As Hemel threw everything except the kitchen sink at their opponents, they left themselves open at the back and Concord capitalised and put the game to bed. 3-1.

It just wasn’t Hemel’s day today, after changing the system at half time, two early goals changed the game and were the difference at the end.

Hemel next play Braintree Town on Saturday, November 9.
