A brace for Deeney and a hat-trick for Deulofeu sees Watford net five past relegation strugglers Cardiff and boosts the Hornets Europa League dreams.
Gracia’s men were too strong for the welsh side who went into the game in their best run of the season after two back to back Premier League wins.
Deulofeu’s smart finish on 18 minutes gave the Hornets the advantage at the half time break which wasn’t helped by the home sides defending.
Two quickfire strikes by the Spanish magician saw Deulofeu score Watford’s first top-flight hat-trick since 1986.
More awful defending gave the hat-trick hero a chance inside the box, which resulted in him taking it round Neil Ethridge and passing it into the net.
Two minutes later and the man of the match runs on to another Cardiff mistake which sees him dink the ball over Ethridge to seal his hat-trick.
More magic from the Spaniard sees him set up captain Troy Deeney for his first of the night.
A Sol Bamba header on 81 minutes means no clean sheet for Foster and his defence.
The last bit of action of the game saw the Watford skipper finish off the game which was dominated from start to finish by the visitors.
Overall, Watford and Deulofeu too good for Cardiff on the night.
Game finished Cardiff 1 – 5 Watford.
