A world-renowned Muay Thai champion from Croxley is set to make her debut at the Rajadamnern World Series.
Ellie Harber, 18, who remains unbeaten in Thailand, said she is “looking to keep that streak going”.
She will be taking on American Sarah Gohier on Saturday, November 16, and the fight will be live streamed globally on DAZN.
Speaking to CROXLEYnews about her preparation for the fight, Ellie said: “I train six days a week and twice a day. I will practice in the evening and then in the mornings go for a run or do strength and conditioning.
“I am really looking forward to the fight.”
Ellie started her Muay Thai journey as a child to “channel my energy and express myself”, adding that she struggled with being angry.
Since her first session at the Knowlsey Academy, Ellie has gone on to win multiple championships, including claiming her first GEWISS belt in April.
In February, at only 18 years old, Ellie was crowned WBC World Champion in Muay Thai and Female Fighter of the Tournament.
When asked what advice she would give to younger athletes, she shared: “Always give it a go. You might not like it, but if you keep trying things, it could really help you. It helps you learn discipline and respect.”
For those inspired to give Muy Thai a try, Ellie has recently been awarded a Level 3 Diploma in Gym Instructing and Personal Training. You can book a session by calling 07763 673052.
