SECOND WIN: St Albans come back to claim vital success

Published on: 8th September 2019   |   By: Tim Green   |   Category: St Albans City F.C

Despite falling behind in only the eighth minute at Hungerford Town, St Albans City FC travelled home from Berkshire with all three points yesterday afternoon and their second win of the season.

The Saints looked a lot more dangerous as the first half drew to a close and Joe Iaciofano won a higg ball in the box and slotted home to put the Saints back on level terms.

The goal sparked the Saints into life and two minutes later, Ian Allinson’s men were ahead after Taylor Miles’ set-piece dropped onto the head of James Kaloczi who found the far corner of the net.

The game then opened up but the Saints faced a nervous last ten minutes after Dave Diedhiou picked up a second yellow for catching a Hungerford attacker. The Saints held on for a valuable three points.

The Saints are next at home to Weymouth on September 14.
